DUREGRAPH

WHAT IS A DUREGRAPH?
These portraits are the outcome of research for my Master's degree in Design. In my study I asked the question:
How might a portrait produced at the intersection of photography and moving image, be used to challenge expectations about time, anticipation, immediacy and meaning?
The word duregraph is comprised of the French durée (duration) and the Greek graphé (representation). I coined it to describe images that contain a subjective experience of time. The studies on this site are subtle and enigmatic; they reveal suggestions of meaning and reward you if you are prepared to wait and watch attentively.
